"Izvestiya Mordovii" is the oldest daily socio-political newspaper in the republic. Its first issue was published on the 28 August, 1918. Since March 1994 the newspaper is published under its current name. In 1968 the newspaper was awarded with the "Badge of Honour".
The founders of the “Izvestiya Mordovii” are the National Assembly and the Government of the Republic, as well as the editorial staff.
The edition is widely covering the political, socio-economic and cultural life of the republic, publishes official documents adopted by authorities of all branches of the republic, raises important social issues and talks about the veterans' movement and the best people of Mordovia. Among the readers of the newspaper are managers and specialists from ministries and departments, enterprises and organizations, businessmen and educators, war and labour veterans, very broad groups of the population.
“Izvestiya Mordovii” is issued 4 times a week, from Tuesday to Friday.
