The Volga (Privolzhsky) League of Journalists is created
Editors-in-chief of newspapers from 15 regions of the Privolzhsky (Volga) Federal District , have recently signed a protocol on founding The Volga (Privolzhsky) League of Journalists. The league will be formed on the basis of permanent individual membership.
The Volga (Privolzhsky) League of Journalists is headed by the assistant to the editor-in-chief of the «Nizhegorodskie Novosti" newspaper Vladimir Torin. According to him, the league will provide for protection of freedom of speech and social and legal working conditions of mass-media in Russia. Its primary goals are the creation of the common information field in the Privolzhsky (Volga) Federal District, protection of freedom of speech and economic interests of mass-media in governmental structures. The first project of the league will be an insert to all state newspapers of the District.
